PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Rhiannon Pollard, PhD, Associate Director of Academic Strategies at UF Online, University of Florida.
My role is to provide strategy and oversight for everything “academic” about UF Online: its majors, minors, courses, faculty, advisors, and even our overall student engagement and the experience they have while they’re in UF Online. I get involved with initiatives and activities ranging from in-the-weeds instructional design and technology support for individual courses, to support for instructors teaching online, to strategic planning and organizational vision and including a whole lot of communications as well as budgeting and team administration. For the past decade, my roles have steadily evolved, weaving through: student support and development; academic program administration; HR and fiscal; instructional design and teaching innovation; technology support; staff management; curriculum planning, assessment and reporting; application and admissions; and communications/marketing and design. A lot of this and a lot of that, too!
I have earned a name for myself as the go-to person to fix, create, or design things, and to problem solve with in general.
What I love about my work is the opportunity to ask questions, assess issues, and then figure out solutions. I love to make things better and to find potential answers to unresolved questions. My happiest days at work are the days I am able to innovate or make a difference that improves the experiences of fellow humans.
